St. Louis OD and Civic Rights Advocate Dies at 87

"Dr. James A. DeClue Sr., former president of the St. Louis chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and one of the first black optometrists in Missouri, died Wednesday (Nov. 16, 2011) of congestive heart failure while in hospice care at St. Alexius Hospital .
