Museum Curator Writes Book about Eyewear Classics
"Been looking out for a new coffee table tome?
Both those with 20:20 vision, and those needing a bit more of a helping
hand are sure to delight in the new book Cult Eyewear by Neil Handley," reports RetroTogo. "Neil Handley is the Curator of the British Optical Association Museum
so he knows his specs. This book charts their history from the 1780s to
the present day. Probably of most interest to Retro To Go readers is
how he charts the story of some of the world's most famous eyewear
brands, such as Ray-Ban and Persol.
The book is heavily and attractively illustrated, with over 500
illustrations over its 192 pages (there's a sample spread below), and is
suitably pleasing on the eye. " Read more.
