From the moment Jerome Walker held his first pencil, he drew on paper and even walls. Even though he was visually impaired, he succeeded. His art was shown in galleries in Chicago, London and Paris. Recently the San Diego Art Institute recognized one of his paintings in the Regional Juried Show. The artist's dedication read: "This painting is gratefully dedicated to Donald and Darlene Shiley and Dr. Weinreb and Dr. Schanzlin of the Shiley Eye Center in La Jolla, without whose help this painting (and possibly the artist himself) might never have seen the light of day."
