Feds Arrest Man Selling Counterfeit and Contaminated Contact Lenses
"Federal authorities are accusing a Las Vegas man of selling counterfeit contact lenses, some found contaminated with bacteria," reports MyNews4 of Las Vegas. "The Justice Department said Wednesday that 29-year-old Dmitriy Melnik was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of trafficking counterfeit goods, introducing misbranded devices and conspiracy. Authorities said he illegally and knowingly imported from China and South Korea thousands of colored contact lenses packaged with counterfeit trademarks and brand names on them, including Ciba Vision FreshLook Colorblends."
