Still Searching for Missoni after 4 Days

"The search for the missing aircraft carrying Vittorio Missoni [who licensed the Missoni eyewear collection] continued off the coast of Venezuela for a fourth day on Monday. The small plane in which they were traveling disappeared Friday morning after takeoff from the island resort of Los Roques." Read more.

Two Days Later, Missoni Still Missing

ABC News reports that “rescuers searched by air and sea today off the coast of Venezuela for the plane carrying Italian fashion mogul Vittorio Missoni, the man credited with turning his father’s fashion house into a global empire that includes hotels, housewares and bicycles [and eyewear]. The 58-year-old left the remote Los Roques archipelago Friday on a twin-engine plane bound for Caracas, Venezuela. On board were his wife, two friends and two pilots. Thirty minutes after takeoff, the plane vanished into the Caribbean, leaving the tight-knit Missoni clan anxiously waiting for answers.” Read more.

Missoni Missing Off the Coast of Venezuela

This morning the New York Times reported that "the Italian fashion designer Vittorio Missoni, the head of the prominent fashion house, was aboard a small plane that has disappeared off the coast of Venezuela, a company spokeswoman said on Saturday."

Back in June, Italian eyewear producer Allison SpA "renewed its licensing contract [with Missoni] and will continue to handle production and worldwide distribution of optical frames and sunglasses. Allison has held the Missoni eyewear license since 2004, and last year it also launched M Missoni eyewear, targeting a young and cosmopolitan audience," as reported in Accessories Magazine.
