Brulimar Optical Kisses Barbie and Batman Goodbye

"A desire for cool designer gear among youngsters has triggered a re-think at eyewear firm Brulimar Optical Group," says Men Media. "The £3m-turnover company, based at Middleton, Greater Manchester, has shut its Brulimar Fashion Eyewear subsidiary which supplied Barbie, Action Man, Batman and other children's frames. It follows a shift by youngsters away from character frames in favour of children's versions of adult designer brands such as Bench, Pineapple, Henleys and Lee Cooper, a spokesman for Brulimar said."
